At Prairie Ridge High School, through a comprehensive school counseling program, students achieve at their maximum potential, embrace their own learning and aspire to become critical, inquisitive and creative learners who flourish through personal initiative and sustained effort to reach high academic goals. As confident and competent young adults, students champion diversity, act responsibly and are prepared to excel in a complex, interconnected world as global citizens. All students own their future as active learners, innovative risk-takers and committed problem-solvers striving to enrich their school and society as a whole.
The mission of the Prairie Ridge Student Services Department is to provide a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate program that serves all students. Each student’s academic, personal/social, and career needs will be met through differentiated, multi-tiered interventions delivered at the whole-school, classroom-based, small-group, and individual levels. Students will be motivated to actualize their strengths and passions for the purposes of ensuring successful endeavors. The Student Services Department will work collaboratively with faculty, staff, parents/guardians, and community members to foster a positive school climate. The department will also make data-driven decisions to target equity gaps and to create opportunities for increased access to services for all students. We will inspire and encourage the positive behaviors, skills, and knowledge needed for students to become independent lifelong learners and positive contributors to society.
