General Information

Connect Crew is a high school transition program that welcomes freshmen and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience. Built on the belief that students can help students succeed, Connect Crew trains members of the junior and senior classes to be Connect Leaders. As positive role models, Connect Leaders are motivators, leaders, and teachers who guide the freshmen to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to high school and help facilitate freshman success.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Current sophomore or junior
  • One commons period per week
  • Attend Connect Crew meeting two Mondays per month from 7:30 - 8:00 am
  • Able to attend the REQUIRED events listed below:
May 13, 2019:          (Mon.)   May Day Meeting          7:10-7:50 am 
August 6, 2019:       (Tues.)   Training                          11:00am-2:00 pm
August 8, 2019:       (Thurs.)  Freshman Registration   2 hour shift
August 13, 2019:     (Tues.)   Freshman Orientation     7:30 am-1:00 pm
December 11, 2019:(Weds.)  Cocoa Cram                    3:00-4:00 pm

Ideal Candidates will possess the following leader characteristics:
  • A positive attitude
  • A friendly, outgoing personality
  • Enthusiasm for serving as a mentor to freshmen
  • The ability to initiate and lead discussions
  • A strong desire to develop as a leader and facilitator
Joining Procedures
Applications will be available online only and must be completed on a computer.

Students are selected by the following criteria:
1. Online application
2. Faculty and staff recommendations 
3. Group interview

Applications are due March 20, 2019 at 3:00 pm.
Late applications will not be considered.

Time Commitment


  • Training is held in the summer.  See above for the training dates and other summer requirements.
  • Training meetings will be held on late start Mondays (twice a month) from 7:30-8:00 am
